2012 Alexandria (VA) Turkey Trot

Patrick and Mary finally have woken up from their thanksgiving-induced food coma to share with the world about their turkey trot results.  Last Thursday, the Boggses decided to justify eating the extra servings of turkey and mushroom risotto by running a 5-miler that was near their Thanksgiving destination: the Alexandria Turkey Trot.  They have previously done this race before, back in 2009 (Mary had finished in 46:29 while Patrick finished in 38:27 back then).  Now, three years older and faster, they both shattered their 2009 times.  Patrick finished in 37:45 (placing 305th overall, 90th in his age group) while Mary finished in 39:25 (488th overall, 44th in her age group).  It should be noted that the results claim there were 4,247 finishers that included semi-pro racers, baby strollers, and dogs on leashes.  Ahh... success and turkey never tasted so good.
