New Bedford Half Marathon: New Bedford, MA

Anne & Brian traveled up from Rhode Island for this event on a chilly Sunday morning to represent NACHO and the Cambridge Running Club for this Boston Marathon tune-up. As the first race in the NE Grand Prix, Anne proudly wore the CRC singlet at she set a half marathon PR on this challenging, hilly course. Running a 1:42:18, she slashed 6 minutes off of her previous PR and is definitely ready for the Boston Marathon on April 18th!
CRC women placed 4th out of 22 teams! Go CRC and go NACHO!

Ras na hEireann 5K: Somerville, MA

Holy NACHO!  Can we say, "NACHOs Grande?"
This was, by far, the largest most successful NACHO event ever, with 17 NACHOs and friends of NACHO participating!  We had some great performances, with four NACHOs setting personal records and Sandra running her first road race EVER!  The Cambridge NACHOs welcomed back Geri for a speedy cameo, and original NACHOs Anne, Mark, Brian and Lew shared a beer and told the tale of the first NACHO event back in the day...
Great running, awesome beer, and a migrating green mustache made it a great day for all.  Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Run4Luck 4M: Lancaster, PA

Patrick and Mary broke out of their winter-racing hibernation and competed in Lancaster's Run4Luck 4-miler on 3/12/11.  The race was challenging in that a) new distance, b) over 700 people were racing around a small residential neighborhood, c) the first 2 miles were hilly, and d) Patrick has a conspiracy theory in that the mile markers were not placed in the right spot due to the 3rd mile that seemed like it too forever to complete.  Regardless, it was a great race.  Patrick learned the meaning of a good finishing kick after being edged out by another competitor at the line.  However, he ran a 29:01, averaging a 7:15/mile pace and placing 70th overall.  Mary surprised herself by having an overall race average of a 8:40/mile pace and finishing in 34:43 that placed her within the top 36% of the race (she thought she would be running a 9:00/mile pace and be MUCH further back).  What a good way to enter the spring!
