Race(s) Recap - April 27th & 28th

Another busy racing weekend for NACHOs all over the country!!

April 27th: Rock and Roll Half Marathon, Nashville TN
A big trip and great race to Grant, Kristen and Kim who traveled south to Nashville to brave 13.1 miles in the pouring rain! This was Kristen's FIRST half marathon, hope you had a blast because we can think of a ton more locally that you should do!  :-)
Grant - 2:14:06
Kristen - 2:30:32
Kim - 2:32:42

April 27th: Nike Women's Half Marathon, Washington DC
Congrats to Lydia for competing in the Nike Women's Half Marathon and finishing in a strong 2:47:41.  Not bad for battling the cold Wisconsin winter leading up to the race!  Can't wait to hear about what was contained in the Tiffany box gifted by the hunky firemen at the finish line!

April 27th: James Joyce Ramble 10K, Dedham MA
Liz B continues to kick ass and take names as she rocked the challenging JJ Ramble, setting a new 10K PR of 40:59 (that's a 6:43/mile pace over some HILLS!).  Watch out folks, she's on fire!

April 27th: Race for Research 5K, South Boston MA
As Derek B said, "I'm really getting into these 5Ks"...and setting PRs in the process!  Congrats Derek for breaking 21 minutes with 20:59 (6:45/mile) and finishing 2nd in his very competitive age group!  Derek is thanking the track workouts for getting his times down - glad they're helping!!

April 28th: Newport 10 Miler, Newport RI
Great job to Tim L. who rocked the Newport 10 miler in an impressive 1:12:06 (that's a 7:12 mile average!).  This PR was good enough to place him in the top 8 % and finish 5th in his age group!  Well done!!

April 28th: Spring Classic 5K, Cambridge MA
Only heard about this one because runners went right by NACHO headquarters in Cambridge, and we happened to see Lauren run by!  She was MOVIN', finishing in 20:45 (that's a 6:40 mile pace!) and finishing 1st in her age group!  Did any other NACHOs run this race?!

April 28th: 2.62M Run to Benefit the One Fund, Southborough MA
Great job to Kate B who raced this benefit in a FAST 20:52 (7:57 pace, well done) and raised money to support the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.  You had a great day to stretch out the legs, Kate!

Race(s) Recap - April 20th

Sorry for the delay in posting results, I got totally side tracked prepared for and celebrating World Penguin Day!

April 20th: Main Street 5K, Sparta NJ

Congrats to Tom Z for his strong finish at the Main Street 5K, placing 3rd in the competitive 30-39 age group and finishing 31st overall in 23:17!  Can you spot the smiling NACHO in the photo?

April 20th: Blue Hills Half Marathon, Roanoke VA

Liz B traveled south to Virginia to race quote "America's Toughest Course" with 3620 feel of total elevation gain and 7234 feet of total elevation change.  Sounds intense!  Well, that didn't stop Liz from cruising to a 7th place overall finish in 1:42:02 (7:47/mile) and placing 2nd in her age group!  Liz we are so proud of you, those morning track workouts are really paying off!

April 15th: Boston Marathon

As we all know, the Boston Marathon did not end the way it was supposed to.  We had four NACHOs racing; Jon, Vihann, Gretchen and Kevin.  Gretchen and Kevin were unable to finish due to the chaos at the finish line, but thankfully were able to meet up with Anne and Brian and get warm inside.  Jon and Vihann squeaked through, finishing in 2:56:56 (Jon) and 3:56:09 (Vihann).  Congrats to all of the runners for having strong races, and we are so happy and thankful that you're all okay.

Race(s) Recap - April 6th & 7th

Happy April NACHOs!!

Big race weekend for a large number of the group, and we wanted to share the impressive results here!

Cherry Blossom 10 Miler - Washington DC

Congrats to Kate for her impressive showing at the Cherry Blossom 10 miler in the cold weather, cranking out a 1:31:03 over the challenging course!  Well done Kate!  She'll be racing for the NACHO Ladies team in Harpoon next month!

Cambridge City Run 5 Miler - Cambridge MA

NACHO had two runners for this fast course around Fresh Pond in Cambridge, Liz and Chris, both using this as a tuneup for the Harpoon 5 Miler in May.  Chris covered the course in 42:40 (8:32/mile) and is in great position to make a mark on the NACHO Chip team.  Liz flew over the course in 31:31 (6:18/mile) winning her age group and finishing 2nd woman overall!!  She's in position to be one of the first NACHO finishers on the NACHO Cheese team next month - well done!!

But wait!  There's more!  Mike also ran in the race, a member of Harpoon NACHO Cheese, finishing in 32:26 (6:29/mile), right behind Liz!  We have to get you a NACHO shirt, Mike, so we'll be able to find you next time.  Well done!

Doyles 5 Miler - Jamaica Plain MA

Congrats to Curt for setting a PR in this hilly course through the Emerald Necklace region of Boston, finishing in 32:07 (6:25/mile).  He'll join Liz on the NACHO Cheese team next month!  He also presumably practiced his beer consumption for Harpoon at the finish line of Doyles!

Cohasset 10K - Cohasset MA

Tim traveled south along the coast to beautiful Cohasset to tackle the hills, wind and the free hot dogs at the famous Cohasset 10K.  Tim was the 60th finisher (out of over 1000 people!) and finished in 44:34 (7:11/mile), very impressive because of the wind and the huge hill at mile 4!  Congrats Tim, and team NACHO Beer is going to appreciate your hard work at Harpoon!

Moving to the Music 5K - Tiverton RI

A large contingent of NACHOs traveled down to RI to support Anne's family (race directors of this inaugural race, thank you runners!) for this beautiful 5K along the northern seacoast of RI.  Jon "took it easy" over the 5K course (with the Boston Marathon one week from today!) and cruised to a 2nd place overall finish in 19:17 (6:13/mile).  He'll be joining Curt and Liz next month on NACHO Cheese next month.  Brian 20:58 (6:46/mile) and Anne 23:16 (7:31/mile) took home 1st in age group honors, and Anne was 4th woman overall in a tight women's race.  Brian will be running on NACHO Beer and Anne with NACHO Ladies next month.  Derek was the next NACHO across the line, finishing in 24:02 (7:46/mile), followed by Jose in 26:31 (8:34/mile).  Jose will be running with Chris on NACHO Chip next month, keep up the great work Jose!  Kerri had an eventful race, running with her and Jon's dog Brady, for his first 5K, in 33:13 (10:43/mile).  Pretty impressive while nursing a hip injury and tied to an excited dog (who had his own NACHO shirt!).  She'll be joining Anne and Kate on the NACHO Ladies team next month!!  Cathy and Dave walked the course in a brisk 58 minutes, enjoying the scenery and cheering on their favorite NACHOs!

FANTASTIC JOB EVERYONE!
