NACHO at the Millrose Games!

Not, competing...but we were there!

NACHO Mary (from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter) was able to attend the game and report on some of the fastest athletes in the world!  This is what she reported back to us,

"I got to wear a tie as I was an "official" for the night.  My first time wearing a tie in awhile, but someone was able to help me put it on.  My main role for the night was updating the MillroseGames Twitter account on the meet results while I sat in the Millrose media room.  I was able to watch most of the meet when I wasn't on Twitter (or as much as my view allowed me to see, as I could only really see the finish area and not much else of the race).  I was able to get up close with some Olympians who competed last night, and a friend took some photos of me with them.

Trey Hardee was the 2012 silver medalist in the decathlon this past summer Olympics.  He competed in the 60 hurdles last night.

Bernard Lagat set a new American 2-mile record last night, running a 8:09.49.  Nick Symmonds is the 6-time outdoor 800m national champion and placed 5th in the 2012 Olympics.  He ran the 600m last night.

Adam Nelson, a Dartmouth grad, was there last night as a lifetime achievement segment.  But for a lot of people at Millrose, it was more like a recognition ceremony for the gold medal he should have won originally in 2004 Olympics (the original gold medalist has since been found of doping).  He's won two silver medals in the shot put at the Olympics.

A very cool night indeed!  Hope you get a chance to watch the replay on ESPN this afternoon."

Check out some of her photos!
